August 2014: Networking and Talk on Wildlife Conservation with Shermin de Silva

Join the Women’s Environmental Network (WEN) at the Impact Hub San Francisco for networking and a talk on wildlife conservation with a focus on Asian elephants in Sri Lanka. The speaker, Shermin de Silva, is the president of Trunks and Leaves, a nonprofit that seeks to promote the conservation of wild Asian elephants and numerous species that share their habitat through science and education in elephant range countries and abroad. Dr. de Silva has won multiple grants and fellowships to support her unique research and was recently featured in the BBC documentary “Sri Lanka, Elephant Island.” She is currently a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Colorado State University.
